If you’ve planned to make a stop for a few days to visit Paris Zoo and the surrounding area, we recommend the following hotels.
The Motel One Paris-Porte Dorée
The Motel One Paris-Porte Dorée is a boutique hotel by the Motel One hotel chain, in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes. The hotel has an exotic interior, with an urban jungle ambiance, evoking the zoo animals nearby. There you’ll find Butterfly and Flatterby lamps designed by the designer Ingo Maurer, dragonfly lamps by Damien Langlois-Meurinne, 3D collages by Madame Moustache, as well as hanging porcelain lights by Tobias Grau.
The hotel offers a designer breakfast buffet space and a bar with a French lounge atmosphere. The food is carefully chosen, with many products being organic or fairtrade.
The hotel is ideally located just 300 metres from Vincennes Zoo, i.e. 4 minutes on foot and 1 minute by car via Avenue Dausmenil. Its location will allow you to easily make your way around the whole capital. Furthermore, the hotel has an underground car park to safely park your car.
The Ibis Daumesnil Porte Dorée
The Ibis Daumesnil Porte Dorée is part of the Accor Hotels group, and part of the Ibis chain. Like all hotels from this chain, it’s a budget hotel, equipped with all essential services: wifi and air conditioning in the rooms, breakfast (for an extra fee), etc.
The hotel is located just beside the Bois de Vincennes, and 750 metres away from the Paris Zoological Gardens, i.e. 3 minutes by car and 9 minutes walking. The 46 bus directly links the zoo and the hotel in 5 minutes.
The establishment offers 39 rooms – standard rooms with a double or single bed.
It should be noted that the hotel doesn’t have a car park, so you’ll have to park at the covered car park nearby (paid).
L’interlude
L’interlude is a 3-star hotel which offers a large number of services for a great stay alone or with family. Among these services, you’ll find free wifi throughout the hotel, the possibility to reserve shuttles, air conditioning in the rooms, a microwave and a fridge… The buffet breakfast is open for reservations via the hotel’s website, otherwise it costs €11 per person.
The hotel is located near the Bois de Vincennes, in the 12th arrondissement, and not far from the Gare de Lyon. Vincennes Zoo is located 1.2km away from the hotel, so you’ll need 5 minutes to get there by car and a good 10 minutes on foot. You can also take the 46 bus at Porte Dorée, 4 minutes away walking.
The hotel contains 43 comfortable rooms, ranging from a classic single or double room to a quadruple room. It’s also possible to opt for connected rooms, ideal if you’re travelling as a family.
The hotel does not have a car park: you’ll have to park at the public car park located at 57 Boulevard Poniatowski.
